The idea of starting TP Handmadejournals began with a massive computer crash.. As a housewife I love to experiment and prepare different dishes, and so I am constantly looking on the net for new ideas, which I save to a folder on my desktop, however one fateful day, the Pc crashed and my hard drive was toast. I then remembered the tattered old recipe book my Nana left for me and decided to make a personalised kitchen recipe book, hand stitched the old fashioned way, to save and to keep all of my favourite recipes together and avoid another misfortune. As my Nana left her recipe book for me I will leave mine for my granddaughters. My friends loved the idea of a hand sown personalised and cool Recipe Journal and asked me to make them one. They also suggested it would be a good idea to make some as gifts for like minded people and so was born TP hand made Journals.

A big Hello and a personal dedication 2020

 Hello friends,

As you can see, I haven't made many “Posts” for some time, but I wanted to write a little about a subject that dominates the news since February 2020.

This time made me consider whether or not I was going to keep my Blog / Store, it didn't have the appeal that I imagined it could have. I did not start this project merely with a financial perspective, but with the aim of sharing my passion and creativity.

But I have decided to continue and will then continue adding new products, maintaining the Blog.

However, I wanted to touch on a topic that has nothing to do with the content of my Blog but I think it is very important.

I would like to thank all doctors and nurses, civil protection forces (Police, Firemen ……), also Priests
and volunteers for the distribution of food and clothing, as well as all caregivers of nursing homes, pharmacies, public transport , supermarket workers and many more services that I have not mention here. Not only in Portugal, but everywhere in the world during this awful prolonged pandemic, who have risked their own health and life in order to give us the security and well-being necessary to continue our lives. These exemplary citizens.

The medical services, firefighters and police who work long hours with little rest, away from families, do their best and are often exhausted and need support.

Psychological, spiritual and financial support.

I thank you all with all my heart!

On a private and personal note, a special thanks to the Tabaqueira Health Center in the municipality of Sintra, Portugal. The centre is not large and the team at the moment is also small, but very good. The same team is managed by the Director and my warrior family doctor, Dr. Maria de Deus.

All the years that I have been a patient I see the dedication and tireless work that she and her team dedicate to their patients, Doctor Maria de Deus knows all her patients by name and in an urgent consultation situation she will never refuse and help not only in physical healing, but also gives understanding and comfort in this period when we are most vulnerable and sensitive.

This human feeling is very important in the recovery from any serious or incurable disease. That is why I tell her many times "that you are my favourite Doctor”.

I would like to share this personal sentiment with everyone, and if you also want to make a dedication to any entity or person that you think stands out, you can include it in the comments.

Once again thank you all very much.
